This cake was a birthday cake for my aunt. She was moving the week before her birthday so I had a lot to do. She requested a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and filling. She wanted green icing with green carrots and orange tops. I made the cake from scratch, in other words, homemade. The icing too. She told me it was the best cake she had ever put in her mouth.

Simple lil cake for Mom and her Hubby. Triple choc cake w/vanilla buttercream, covered in fondant. Some brush technique, ruffles and string and voila. She was happy. Color is a deep purple (like her wedding) made by mixing Wilton violet and burgundy. Hope you liked...

I made this for my daughter's first birthday. It's a white chocolate cake with raspberry filling and almond buttercream. The flowers and butterflies are made of fondant and silver dragees. We used the top tier as her "smash cake". The cake was delicious, I'm pleased with how it turned out!

WWE Raw Cake for my son's 8th Birthday
I first showed my interest in cake decorating after seeing a lady decorate a cake before my very eyes and how she's done it with perfection and great ease. So I started scanning through cake decorating videos and websites.
A busy mom of 2 kids as I am, I don't have time to enroll myself to a formal cake decorating class, so I just used the convenience of the internet to do my research and voila, my cake decorating adventure began.
The first cake I made was a Mocha cake as it is one of my favorite cakes. I kinda think it was a disaster because my hand is not at first steady and I'm kinda learning the art of squeezing the bag of frosting as I do the shell border around the cake.
The second cake I made was for father's day. I drew a keyboard musical instrument) and did my first writing on a cake.
As I practice and do researches on cake decorating, it gives me some new ideas and techniques from frosting and smoothing out a cake to decorating it. I also learned about the frozen buttercream transfer technique which I used for my Cinderella cake.
I always practice piping on a piece of wax paper or a small cake and even the back of a paper plate.
I still need a lot of practice and have a big room for improvement. As of this moment, since I started in May of 2009 I already made 28 cakes for different occasions.

Bday Candle Cake
This was my first effort with making, dying and decorating with MM fondant. It is a training cake for a party for 75! Can anyone give advice about preventing the frosting and cake sag? This is a DH Butter 4 layer 6 inch w/ Chocolate, Coffee and Ammaretto frosting (butter, cream cheese and Crisco.)

independent berries
I made the cake from the recipe off the back of the downs cake flour box. ( 1, 2, 3 cake )between the layers I used fresh berries (strawberries,blueberries and raspberries) sprinkled on top of the butter cream frosting.
The cake layers were frosted first and then berries were sprinkled on top of frosting. Layers were placed on top of each other until I got to the top layer.
The sides were frosted and I used a frosting comb to make a design. The top was accented with butter cream dots and the berries were added to the top of the cake.
I made this cake for a local nursing home for the residents to celebrate memorial day they had a picnic. This is a buttercream cake. I made the cake for some special friends some were even vets that served our country. They were pleased..and enjoyed the cake especially the big strawberries..
