Made a rich chocolate cake in a diamond shaped pan. Split the cake and used a chocolate ganache flavored with a little peppermint. After brushing the cake with a little warm honey i frosted the sides with a peppermint buttercream and fluffed it up to resemble snow.

Finished the base of the cake with buttercream rosettes. Placed rolled fondant on the top surface and "brushed the snow up to seal the fondant/buttercream junction.

Decoration of a Jack Frost figure and sleigh and the flower, leaves and heart are all from fondant. The heart was rolled fondant cut out with heart cutter.

For the sleigh I drew a template for the sides and rectangles for the front, back and base and cut them out from fondant. Used sugar glue and small balls of gumpaste to secure the parts together.

Jack Frost was molded by hand, head attached to body with glue and a spaghetti post. Tunic was a circle of fondant imprinted by a mat and molded hands were attached to the end of the sleeves, I avoided "arms". Painted the items with food safe coloured dusts.

It was time consuming but fun to do.
