White Chocolate Cake

This wonderful white chocolate cake is easy to make and absolutely delicious. We've also included a white chocolate frosting recipe as well.


Cake with White Chocolate

1/3 cup (3 oz) white chocolate coating, chopped into pieces
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks unbeaten
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1 tsp baking soda
4 egg whites stiffly beaten
1 cup buttermilk

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degress. Grease 3 9" round pans using pan grease.

  • Melt white chocolate coating in microwave or double boiler. Allow to cool.

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • Add melted coating and vanilla.

  • Sift flour and baking soda together. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.

  • Gently fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

  • Pour into greased pans. Bake at 350 degrees 30-35 minutes.

  • Allow cakes to cool 10 minutes before turning onto rack.

Easiest White Chocolate Frosting

  • 9 oz white chocolate coating, chopped into pieces
  • 1 1/8 cups sour cream
Directions:
  • Melt white chocolate in microwave or double boiler.

  • Allow chocolate to cool until starting to set, add sour cream.

  • If you would like a fluffier icing, beat the mixture after it has cooled completely.
