• How about a flip flop cake for a girl or use the same instructions and create a sneaker or tennis shoe for a boy.

• Create a multi tier cake and frost it in your teen's favorite colors. Add a ruffle border along the border and add accents of dots or cut out fondant for decorations. These cakes look extra fancy and most girls would love getting one for their birthday.


• Most girls like cute animals and a panda is just about the cutest animal alive so why not make a panda cake? Her friends will be impressed, also, which is probably more important than impressing the birthday girl herself. 1 baked 8-inch round cake
  1 baked 9 or 10 inch round cake4 baked cupcakes
  1 1/2 cups white frosting
  2 cups dark chocolate frosting
  1 mint patty (ears)
  Hershey's Mini Kisses (claws)
  1 Junior Mint (nose)
  fruit leather (tongue)
  black shoestring licorice (mouth)
  2 sour rings and 2 Skittles (eyes)
  white sprinkles
  The 8-inch cake is the panda's head, and the larger cake is the body, which can be trimmed to fit under the head so there are no gaps. Cut two of the cupcakes in half and use them for the ears and front paws. The other two cupcakes can be used as the rear paws. When icing the panda cake, create dark and light patches resembling those of a panda. Use an image if necessary to help you get the right effect.
  
  Slice the mint patty in half and use each half as the inside of the ears. Mini kisses are the claws, the Junior Mint is the nose, the piece of fruit leather is the tongue, the mouth is the licorice and the two rings and Skittles are the eyes. Finally, sprinkle appropriate areas with powdered sugar for a fur-like effect.
