If you are planning to make a Scooby Doo cake for your child’s next birthday celebration, a number of styles and methods are available to help you bake this cake. Scooby Doo Cake Ideas

Scooby Doo Image Tracing

One of the easiest ways to make a Scooby cake without having to purchase additional decorating materials is to find an image of the character you like and trace it to your cake. To do this simply find and cut out your image and lay it on your unfrosted cake. Using a toothpick, poke holes to create an outline of your image on the cake.

Use this method to create not only your basic outline but also to outline the facial details like the eyes, nose and mouth. Leave the image on your cake and frost the remaining area around it. Once your cake is frosted, remove the image and use a piping tip with black icing to draw over your toothpick outlines. You can then use additional frosting colors and the star fill piping technique to finish your yummy Scooby cake.
This method is used mostly with decorating character cakes.

Scooby Doo Character Pans

If you would like to make a Scooby Doo shaped cake without the hassle of cutting and assembling, premolded cake pans are definitely the way to go. You can find these pans online and at most craft stores and they will give you a perfectly shaped cake every time. This allows you to focus more on your decorating. We recommend using the Scooby Doo cake pan from Wilton. Decorate using your own technique or follow the Wilton decorating instructions.

Scooby Doo Accessories for your cake

If you’re pressed for time or are unsure about your ability to create the image you’re looking for, try using character candles and cake accessories to decorate your Scooby Doo cake. There are candles and accessories are often available in many varieties online and in various party supply stores. See below for some examples.

Simply frost your cake in the color of your choice and place the candles and accessories where you like. You can then use a piping tip and writing frosting to add names and additional detailing to your cake.

A cake image added to a frosted cake works well too.
