blue arrowDecorate a two layer round cake and place a fondant number 50 on top. Add a shell border.

blue arrowDid the birthday man/woman have a favorite cartoon character when they were young or favorite sport/hobby when they were young? Create a cake accordingly--it will help them feel young again

blue arrowLaminate a picture of the birthday person when they were young and center it on your cake. Frost around it with a border.

blue arrowDecorate over the hill birthday cakes with tombstones (you can find these at a party supply store) or make your own with oval shaped cookies and pipe writing on them.

blue arrowFrost a rectangular cake with chocolate icing on one side and green or blue icing on the other side. Make a small hill in the middle of the cake using half a cupcake, and ice it with half chocolate, half green. On one side write "happy birthday" and place numeral candles representing "2" and "5"; on the other write "everything looks different from here on" and use "5" and "0" number candles.

blue arrowA "Caution: Over the Hill" cake is made by baking a two layer cake, frosting the top layer with white icing and the sides with black and yellow icing so that it resembles caution tape you see around crime scenes or construction areas. Decorate the cake with signs that say things like "Danger: falling arches and sagging skin ahead" or "Shuffle, slow down, nap".
