There are a couple methods to making fondant flowers. They are really
easy to create. You can create fondant flowers by using cookie cutters,
shaping your
fondant into a rose or using cake decorating molds.
How to Make Fondant Flowers
It is really easy to make fondant decorations by using different
shapes and sizes of cookie cutters. Roll out your fondant you are using
for your cake. A good idea is to use different shades or colors so your
flowers will coordinate and stand out more.
Cut flowers out of your fondant with flower shaped
cookie
cutters. Use your finger or pastry brush and dip in a glass of water.
Rub the back of your shapes with your wet finger and apply to your
frosted cake. Rub smooth.

Making Fondant Roses
Cut a 2-3 inch strip of your fondant. Fold in half lengthwise.
With the
folded edge facing you, twirl strip and pinch ends. Cut any excess
fondant off the ends if needed.
You can make fondant leaves by using cookie cutters as well. Add lines
down the center and sides to resemble a leaf with fondant tools or
knife.
Making flowers with flower molds
You can create easy flowers with silicone molds. Sprinkle your mold
with powdered sugar and press a small piece of fondant in your mold and
press filling all edges. Continue to add small pieces until your mold
is full to the top. Take out of mold. Use your flowers in your cake
decorating. If you are not using your fondant flowers immediately chill
them in the fridge until ready to use.
