Lemon Frosting Recipe
This lemon frosting recipe would be great paired with a
lemon cake or
white cake. It can also be used as a
filling in a layer cake and
frosted with a white frosting. It has a wonderful lemon flavor!

1/2 Cup butter, softened at room temperature
4 Cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon lemon zest
3 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 Tablespoon water
pinch of salt
2-3 drops of yellow food coloring, optional
In mixer blend together butter and powdered sugar. Add in lemon zest,
lemon juice, salt and water. Blend several minutes until smooth.
For an orange icing or frosting, add orange
juice in
place of lemon juice and
orange zest in place of lemon zest.
