Dora The Explorer Cake
A Dora the Explorer cake is a great idea for a child’s birthday party.
There are several different ways you can make and decorate a beautiful
cake. For example, there are a large number of cake decorating kits
available to make decorating a Dora the Explorer themed cake quick and
easy. Each kit is different but they most commonly offer cake toppers
of Dora, Boots and other Dora the Explorer characters as well as tips
on how to decorate the cake.
Dora Shaped Cakes
You can also make a cake that is a
picture of Dora using Dora the Explorer cake pans in the shape of Dora.
To use these pans, you simply pour in the cake batter and bake it. When
it has cooled, you can use icing to color it in and draw on the
details.
If you do not want to use a cake pan, but do want a cake shaped like
Dora, you can make your own by baking two rectangular cakes, cutting
pieces out of those cakes and putting them together to look like Dora.
Once you cover it with frosting, nobody will be able to see the
individual pieces. Freezing the cake will make cutting shapes easier.
Follow the details of a picture of Dora and decorate.

Head Shaped Cakes
If you want a cake that just looks like
Dora’s head, there are options for that too. You can print a picture of
how you want the cake to look and use that as a template. Tracing the
picture onto wax paper and then transferring it to the cake is the
easiest way to do this.
Once you’ve transferred the traced image to the cake, you can fill in
the details with icing. To frost Dora’s skin, you can use chocolate and
vanilla icing mixed together. It is best to experiment beforehand to
get the correct ratio.
To make her eyes, you can use vanilla wafers frosted white and
chocolate candy for the pupil. Instead of drawing on her mouth with
icing, you can use a fruit roll-up cut into the shape of her mouth. To
make the stripes in Dora’s hair, you can run a toothpick or fork
through chocolate icing.

Cupcakes
If you want to make cupcakes instead of a Dora the
Explorer cake, you can draw pictures of Dora’s face on top of cupcakes
using icing. You can also buy the Dora the Explorer cupcake stand to
hold the cupcakes as well as Dora the Explorer cupcake liners.
There are also pre-made Dora the Explorer icing decorations available
for sale that would look great on cupcakes. You can also put a cake
topper with a different Dora the Explorer character on each cupcake.
This way, each child gets a different topper and they can have fun
trading with each other.
