Dark Chocolate Cake Recipe


This dark chocolate cake recipe calls for 1 cup coffee, if you don't drink coffee try substituting 1 Cup chocolate milk or hot cocoa.

Dark Chocolate Cake

1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
¾ cup cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup strong coffee, brewed or chocolate milk
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 cake pan or two 9” round pans.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Make a well in the center of dry ingredients. Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla.
Mix until well blended.
Pour into prepared pans. Bake 30-40 minutes.
