Chocolate Overload Cake
- 2 cups boiling water

- 1 cup softened butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease 3 9" cake pans with pan grease.
- Pour cocoa into a medium sized bowl and add water, whisking until
smooth.
- Set aside to cool.
- In a separate bowl; combine flour, baking soda, baking powder,
and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one a time. Add vanilla.
- Add the flour mixture and cocoa mixture alternately, and mix well.
- Add batter to pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
