Car Cake
Creating a car cake sparks a wildfire of ideas form the racetrack cakes
to impressive 3D cakes. You can use our recipe to make a basic cake
form and then use our free cake decorating ideas or your own for a
unique cake.
Race Track Cake
Two round cakes arranged side by side form a figure eight racetrack and
are ready for your distinctive landscaping design. Top the cake with
plastic cars age appropriate for your guests, and the party guests can
have a piece of cake with their own race car on top.
Cupcakes are always fun and going with the little car theme; you can
decorate the cupcakes with a road and place the small cars on each
cupcake. Decorate cupcakes with traffic lights, stop signs, racing
flags, and messages and arrange them around the racetrack cake. Of
course, the cupcakes served by themselves with free hand drawings of
cars on top are always an option.
Read directions on creating a
race track cake with
two round cakes.
Use a Specialty Cake Pan
Specialty pans are another gateway to all kinds of ideas for a car
cake. The Wilton Race Car Pan, for example, has a basic car outline on
background. A racecar on the background of a checkered flag is the
advertised idea but a taxicab for a going away party is another idea.
The design would allow you to create any car of your choice and
decorate the background to correspond to your car.
You can use to the Wilton 3-D Cruiser Pan to create the car cake of
your choice, if you are more comfortable using a preform pan. You can
make a pink Sweet Sixteen VW Beetle for the teenager wishing for a car
on her birthday, or a police cruiser for the graduate who wants to get
into law enforcement. Any car you can create with our patterns and
ideas, you can create with this pan.
Make a 3D Car Cake
Multiple
options are available to make 3D cakes from our free downloads to
manufactured 3D cake pans or even sculpting a car from a 13 x 9 cake.
You can make a 3 D car cake by using our cake-decorating instructions.
Make a 3D Cake shaped like a car
by using these cake decorating instructions. Bake a cake in a
13x9 pan. Allow to
cool overnight. On a
sheet of paper cut out a car shape, use this as your pattern. You will
cut out 2 car shapes out of the 13x9 pan so make sure your pattern will
fit. Add a dab of frosting to your cake plate to
secure the cake. Prop
up your two car shapes up and crumb coat. Allow to sit several hours.
This
picture will give you an idea of how to cut your
pattern out.
Decorate your cake as you'd like. If you need to you can use a picture
or a toy car and copy the design. Add whatever details you'd like and
add wheels.
We have a

Car Party Car Cake
A car party can be fun for partygoers of all
ages. Disney’s Lightening McQueen is a favorite children’s party theme
and if you don’t feel like doing all the decorating by hand, you can
buy Disney’s new Cars-2 cake topper. An abundance of items is available
in the Cars-2 theme such as invitations, tablecloths, paper plates,
cups and napkins and even centerpieces for the table.
You can build a Dukes of Hazard car for the 1970’s party, a hearse for
a Halloween costume party, and even a bat mobile for the Batman fan.
The possibilities are almost limitless for creating a car cake.
Celebrating the new driver license or the car lovers birthday, the car
themes all bring fun to the party and shows how much the baker cares
that they created a personalized cake for the guest of honor.
