This camera sculpted cake was created by using two 6 inch circle pans and one rectangle cake pan. It will take two cake mixes. To decorate your cake trim the edges off the rectangle cake so it is perfectly straight around the sides. Save the pieces for sculpting. You will need to add a piece on the top and one on the left front. Frost your rectangle cake then add pieces. Frost added pieces so the bottom cake is completely frosted.

Place a round cake on a flat surface or cake plate and fill the layer of your round cake. Place second round cake on top of your first round. Frost cake. With a wide spatula carefully place your round cakes on top of the rectangle cake.

camera lense and body cake

The round cakes are the "lense" the rectangle with the added shaped pieces is the body of the camera.

Now you can add details as you choose such as the camera name and outline the lense.

  • You can add edible glitter on the top of the round cake to look more like glass.
  • You can make black frosting instead of chocolate if you choose.
  • You could make a smaller rectangle cake by cutting your rectangle in half. Prop your rectangle camera body up. Glue two rectangles together with frosting and frost whole cake. Make a smaller round cake also and attach to camera body. This gives more of a 3D look but it is harder to piece together without falling apart. So make it smaller!
