Beach Ball Cake

This beach ball cake makes a great swimming pool party cake or summer fun cake. It is made using a . However I've also made a ball cake in a Betty Crocker Bake and Fill Pan and filled it with ice cream. Unfortunately, I can't find that pan anymore but the Wilton ball pan is still available. You can also buy a mini ball pan and make small ball cakes for each guest or let guests decorate their own ball cake.

This ball cake was decorated with white lines down the sides and
 then filled in with the star technique.

Free Cake Decorating Ideas:

If you don't want to make a 3D ball cake you can make a beach ball on a round 8-9  pan. Use 1 layer or 2.  Outline with a toothpick, where your white lines will be. With a writing tip pipe your white frosting lines. Fill in different colors with a star tip. Decorate with a colorful border.
