Flavor: Chocolate
Design: Basket of Flowers
Frosting: Butter Cream

My first try to make a basket weave design...excited using my NEW basket weave tip # 48, flower nail and a revolving cake stand.

This cake I made is for my learning experience, experimenting how to decorate it.

Thinking basket weave design is an easy way to frosting the cake, you do not need to smooth the entire part of the cake, but you must need to apply frosting to have a based for your desired design.

I am not satisfied with frosting on top of the cake it has a dark spot on top of it, for my part it's hard for me to smooth and cover the cake that's why I put on flowers, originally number is only three, I don't like the outcome of the top and it became a bouquet of flowers.

In making this cake, first frost the cake with butter cream, separate in a bowl with frosting for desired color. For me, I divide for 3 bowls for brown, yellow and green color. For color brown frosting pour it into piping bag with basket weave tip#48 and for yellow color frosting.

Pour it also into piping bag with rose petal tip also the green frosting with leaf tip. First frost the whole cake in thin layer then pipe the basket weave tip into entire cake.

With flower nail make a rose in desired number and pipe with leaf according to your design and additional design pipe the bottom of the cake with your desired tip.

Practice!

I think you did great. I still call every cake I decorate a practice cake. I do one every chance I get because I want to get really good at it! But I am never completely happy with the end result. I think its normal to always want to do better!!

for the first attempt, the cake turned out really nice. Don't know anyone satisfied with their first, but you did well and recognized what needed to improve. Good job
