Here are some fun Christmas cake ideas for your next Christmas party.If you’re planning to make a regular rectangular or square-shaped cake and don’t want to get too complicated in your baking, you can still make a beautiful and festive Christmas cake. One popular way to make a Christmas cake fun is to decorate it like a Christmas gift. Poinsettia Cake

Another one of many Christmas cake ideas is to make a cake with poinsettias. After you bake and frost the cake with white frosting, you use frosting tips to draw poinsettia leaves in red and green all over the cake.

This cake decorating method looks particularly good if you add a gold holiday ribbon around the base of the cake before you draw the poinsettias. Or you can do the same idea with poinsettas on cupcakes.

Snowmen Cakes

Snowmen cakes are also fun ideas for Christmas parties. For a snowman cake, all you need is two round cakes, one smaller and one larger. Put the smaller cake on the top for the snowman head and the larger cake on the bottom.

Cover the cakes with white icing and then draw on the face. Use different foods to make the face and snowman accessories. For example, use M&Ms to make the eyes, mouth and buttons, fruit roll-ups for the nose, pretzels for arms and Oreos for the hat.

Candy Cane Cakes

Candy cane cakes are also popular and fun to make. Bake a rectangular cake, cut one side short, add it to the other side then cut off the corners so you get a rounded shape. Once you have made the cake into a candy cane shape, frost the cake with white frosting and then add red stripes using red frosting.

Christmas Tree Cake

Make a Christmas tree out of a rectangle cake. Cut your rectangle in two triangles and form into a tree. Decorate with icing.  Alternately you can cut a jagged edge to your Christmas tree cake for a pine tree. Add a small square to the bottom for the trunk and decorate little cake pieces as presents.
