The Importance of 1st Birthday Cake Designs

1st birthday candle

Choosing from an array of 1st birthday cake designs will be one of the things you will have to do when organizing your child’s very first birthday party. Cast your mind back to the excitement you felt when your baby was born, and now think about how quickly a year has flown past and already it is time for the first birthday party.

What cake should you make? With so many advances in baking techniques and being able to transfer any character you like onto a cake, it is easy to find something perfect for your child.

The importance of a First Birthday Cake

What better way to say Happy Birthday than with a beautiful themed birthday cake that you have lovingly made all by yourself. There is no need to rush out and take up baking lessons in order to make the perfect cake. After all, 1st birthday cake designs will not really be appreciated by your year old baby. They will definitely notice the taste but not the cake itself! Therefore, this gives you a bit of leeway and room for a few errors that nobody will notice.

You will no doubt record those precious memories of the first birthday cake on DVD and digital photographs. When your child is older, they will appreciate the trouble you went to even though they were unaware of it.

What flavor 1st Birthday Cake to Choose?

Most children of one year old or younger will love ice cream or a chocolate flavored cake. But don't forget great flavors like carrot cake, strawberry or white cake.

To add a colorful touch, you may even make a mixture of flavors, with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. More often than not, your child will pick off the icing and leave the cake!

Girls 1st birthday Cake Designs

Baby girls of a year old might find a cake with a large design appealing and might recognize some bright colors and shapes. Luckily, with such strides made in baking pans, stencils and other accessories you can probably purchase a baking pan in the exact ‘baby girl’ design for which you are looking.

Most 1st birthday cake designs can be extremely creative. A heart-shape could indicate how much you love your child, as well as how much love exists in the family. Disney characters, princesses and castles would be popular for a little girl, as well as a tiara as the topping. These might trigger a memory of a story she has been read.

Boys 1st birthday Cake Designs

Most parents in tune with their sons’ development should easily be able to pick out a theme for their first birthday cake. Sometimes a boy baby has a favorite toy – like a teddy bear or a noisy train. Both of these will work well for a very presentable birthday cake. Animal shapes could also be popular with boys – especially if you live on a farm or out in country. In addition, if dad is a huge sports fan, maybe he will suggest a baseball or cricket bat cake.

Other 1st birthday cake ideas

You might well prefer to go for a basic, simple design, as your child surely will not have any preference. Cupcakes may be a good way to go, as each child attending the party gets their entire very own cake. Each one could perhaps have a different design on top incorporating a couple of themes. Of course, if your child is a summer baby, ice cream cakes are always popular. These cakes simply need a edible transfer put on top of them to complement the chosen theme.

A first birthday party is a very important occasion - more so for the parents than for the child. However, it still marks a milestone in the child’s life and is a celebration of what he has achieved in his first year – smiling, walking, and first tooth and so on. That is why you need to make a careful choice from a selection of 1st birthday cake designs.
